Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 Tbsp butter
8 oz pkg. white sliced mushrooms
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp soy sauce
black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat, add mushrooms. Cook and gently flip mushrooms until the mushrooms have softened and released their liquid. About 5 minutes
  • 2. Stir in garlic; continue to cook 1 minute. Pour in soy sauce until liquid has evaporated, about 4 minutes. Sprinkle with black pepper. Serve over steak or any dish you desire.

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready to go. This will help you stay organized and avoid any scrambling during the cooking process.
  • Choose the Right Mushrooms: Not all mushrooms are created equal. For this recipe, you'll want to use a firm, meaty mushroom like cremini or shiitake. Avoid delicate mushrooms like oyster or chanterelle, as they will not hold up well to the cooking process.
  • Slice the Mushrooms Evenly: This will help them cook evenly. If the mushrooms are too thick, they may not cook all the way through. If they are too thin, they may overcook and become tough.
  • Cook the Mushrooms in Batches: If you overcrowd the pan, the mushrooms will not cook evenly. Cook them in batches so that they have enough space to brown.
  • Don't Move the Mushrooms Around: Once you add the mushrooms to the pan, let them sit for a few minutes without moving them. This will help them develop a nice brown crust.
  • Add the Soy Sauce Glaze: Once the mushrooms are browned, add the soy sauce glaze. Stir to coat the mushrooms evenly. The glaze will help to caramelize the mushrooms and give them a delicious flavor.
  • Serve Immediately: These mushrooms are best served immediately, while they are still hot and crispy. They can be served as a side dish or as a main course.

Conclusion:

This recipe for Soy Sauce Glazed Mushrooms is a quick and easy way to prepare a delicious and healthy side dish. The mushrooms are tender and flavorful, with a slightly sweet and savory glaze. They are perfect for any occasion, from a weeknight dinner to a special holiday meal.
