Tips:

  • Choose the Right Mushrooms. For this recipe, cremini mushrooms are a great option because they have a mild flavor and hold their shape well when cooked. However, you can use other types of mushrooms, such as shiitake, oyster, or portobello mushrooms.
  • Slice the Mushrooms Thinly. This will help them cook evenly and quickly.
  • Use a Large Skillet. This will give the mushrooms plenty of room to cook without overcrowding them.
  • Cook the Mushrooms Over High Heat. This will help them brown and develop a crispy exterior.
  • Add the Sour Cream and Seasonings. Once the mushrooms are cooked, stir in the sour cream, salt, and pepper. You can also add other seasonings, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
  • Serve Immediately. Mushrooms and sour cream are best served hot, so enjoy them right away.
