The gentle, even heat from a slow cooker means the mulled wine doesn't boil and the flavours stay fresh, leave it to heat while you eat, drink and be merry!

RED WINE PUNCH

Red Wine Punch image

This is a good punch that people seem to like, even those that don't care for red wine. The prep time does not include the chill time for the punch or the freezing of the ice ring if using one. (You can also use the recipe for wine coolers.)

Provided by Junebug

Categories     Punch Beverage

Time 15m

Yield 1 punch bowl

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 (750 ml) bottle red wine (I like Shiraz)
1 (1 liter) bottle margarita mix (I like Jose Cuervo)
1 (2 quart) bottle ginger ale
1 lime

Steps:

  • Mix the first 3 ingredients together, using equal amounts of each.
  • Put in the fridge to chill.
  • If making punch freeze some of the leftover ginger ale to use as an ice ring in the punch bowl.
  • If using ice ring put it in the punch bowl.
  • Pour punch into bowl.
  • Squeeze half the lime over top of the punch.
  • May slice and float lime slices in bowl if desired.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe and juicy pomegranates. This will ensure that your punch is flavorful and delicious.
  • Use a good quality red wine. A dry red wine, such as a Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot, will work well in this recipe.
  • Add spices to taste. The spices listed in the recipe are just a suggestion. Feel free to add more or less, depending on your personal preference.
  • Let the punch simmer for at least 2 hours. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.
  • Serve the punch warm or chilled. It is also delicious served over ice.

Conclusion:

This mulled pomegranate and red wine punch is a delicious and festive drink that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own personal taste. So next time you are looking for a special drink to serve, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
