SIMPLE MOCHA FRAPPE

Simple Mocha Frappe image

I worked as a barista for 2 years and I tend to be very picky when it comes to specialty coffee drinks. Living in an area where there is a coffee stand on every corner I have tasted so many different versions on each drink so I know that though everyone will use the same ingredients for the most part, quantities and quality matter! This is my simple yet satisfying Mocha Frappe. Although I am sure many might think to substitute for the ingredients to suit their tastes/diet or to use what they have on hand, I hope you will reconsider and use store bought chocolate milk if you can because it is thick and creamy which will make a difference. For variations to this recipe you could add a bit of coconut extract or other flavors, or even flavor syrups. And top with whip cream to make it extra delicious! If you don't have the chocolate milk it is ok to substitute with half and half (can be fat free) and some chocolate syrup as I have found that still gives it enough thickness.

Time 5m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

3 frozen coffee ice cubes
1/2 cup chocolate milk (store bought)
1 scoop coffee ice cream (I like starbucks java chip)

Steps:

  • Note: To make frozen coffee cubes, brew a strong cup of coffee (I use instant since nobody else drinks it) and add sugar or splenda to taste. Then freeze in ice cube tray.
  • Blend coffee cubes and milk in blender until large chunks are gone.
  • Add ice cream and blend til combined and still fairly thick.

CARAMEL CAPPUCCINO FRAPPE- MR. COFFEE

Caramel Cappuccino Frappe- Mr. Coffee image

This recipe is good as is but adding more caramel and using half and half instead of milk made it even better. This recipe is from Frappes Made Easy from Mr. Coffee and came with the convenient frappe machine but can be made without.

Provided by reneeash08

Categories     Beverages

Time 5m

Yield 2 glasses, 1-2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 tablespoons ground dark roast coffee (or coffee of choice) or 3 tablespoons espresso (or coffee of choice)
1/2 cup water
2 cups ice cubes (shredded ice would be even better without the machine)
1/3 cup caramel ice cream topping
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk

Steps:

  • Brew coffee according to your coffee machines directions.
  • Blend ingredients in blender, longer as necessary for larger pieces of ice.
  • Blend in coffee once brewed.
  • Pour into glasses.
  • Top with whipped cream and caramel drizzle.
  • Serve.

Tips:

  • For a more intense flavor, use cold brew coffee instead of regular coffee.
  • If you don't have chocolate syrup, you can use hot fudge sauce or even Nutella.
  • To make the frappe even more decadent, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt.
  • If you're watching your calories, you can use skim milk or almond milk instead of whole milk.
  • For a fun and festive touch, garnish the frappe with whipped cream, sprinkles, or a cherry.
