2 large eggs

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. 1 egg

24 unblanched whole almonds
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 tablespoon water

  • Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, beat butter and almond paste with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Beat in egg until well blended. Stir in cookie mix and 1 tablespoon water until soft dough forms.

When she would take them out of the freeze and thawed for awhile, they were easy to cut. This recipe makes four dozen cookies.

  • Place on cookie sheet and bake 8-10 minutes, until golden brown.
