1/2 cup buttermilk
FROSTING:
3 tablespoons butter, softened
3-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beating well after each addition. , Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. 1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks)
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup flour
1 cup coconut
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (your preference)
1 cup chopped dried fruit, like raisins, dried cranberries or apricots

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In one large bowl, cream together butter and both sugars.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, mix until blended.
  • Add peanut butter and mix again until blended.

1 cup butter
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup crisp rice cereal
1 cup flaked coconut

1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup butter, softened
1-3/4 cups sugar

4 large egg yolks
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons hot water
1 cup sour cream
Optional toppings: sugar or colored sugar and walnut halves

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and nutmeg. In another bowl, cream butter, sugar and salt until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks and eggs. Dissolve baking soda in hot water.
