SLOW COOKER BABY BACK RIBS

Slow Cooker Baby Back Ribs image

These are the best I've had, short of the actual grilling method of course! This is a very simple recipe that I came up with a few years ago. It's not rocket science, just ribs cooked in the slow cooker and finished in the oven. This is what I do when I want ribs during the week and have to work all day. I'm eating them within a half-hour of getting home, and they turn out perfect every time!

Tips:

  • Choose the right ribs: Baby back ribs or spare ribs can be used for this recipe. Baby back ribs are leaner and have a milder flavor, while spare ribs are more fatty and have a richer flavor.
  • Prep the ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs to help the sauce penetrate the meat. You can also trim off any excess fat.
  • Make the BBQ sauce: The homemade BBQ sauce in this recipe is simple to make and packed with flavor. Feel free to adjust the sweetness, smokiness, and spiciness to your liking.
  • Slow cook the ribs: Cooking the ribs low and slow in the crock pot allows the meat to become fall-off-the-bone tender.
  • Brush with sauce: Baste the ribs with the BBQ sauce during the last 30 minutes of cooking to caramelize the sauce and add extra flavor.

Conclusion:

This easy crock pot BBQ ribs recipe is a great way to enjoy delicious and tender ribs without having to slave over a hot grill. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender and smothered in a flavorful homemade BBQ sauce. Serve them with your favorite sides for a satisfying meal that the whole family will love.
