Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 5

pork chops, center cut, as many as you have people to feed
salt and pepper
thin slices of onion
thin slices of lemon, unpeeled, deseeded
catsup

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 350°. Salt and pepper porkchops lightly on both sides. Place in a baking dish in a single layer.
  • 2. Top EACH CHOP with the following in order: One or two Thin onion slices , one or two Thin Lemon slices, and a Tablespoon or two of catsup. Spread catsup to cover.
  • 3. Add about 3-4 Tbsp. water to the pan, Cover with Foil and bake at 350 until fork tender. Check the chops after 30 minutes and then every 15 minutes til you can stick a fork into them and they are tender.
  • 4. If you like, you can remove the foil for the last 15 minutes to let the toppings brown a little. Remove from pan with spatula and serve.

Tips:

  • To ensure evenly cooked pork chops, select chops of uniform thickness. If your chops vary in thickness, consider pounding them to an even thickness before cooking.
  • Season your pork chops generously with salt and pepper, or use a pre-made seasoning blend. This will help enhance their flavor.
  • Use a high-quality olive oil for searing the pork chops. This will add a delicious flavor to the chops.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when searing the pork chops. If you do, the chops will steam instead of sear, resulting in less flavorful chops.
  • Cook the pork chops over medium-high heat until they develop a nice sear on both sides. This will help lock in the juices and prevent them from drying out.
  • Once the pork chops are seared, transfer them to a baking dish and bake them in a preheated oven until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare or 160°F (71°C) for medium.
  • Let the pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the chops, resulting in more tender and flavorful meat.

This recipe for Mom's Easiest Ever Baked Pork Chops is a simple and delicious way to enjoy this classic dish. With just a few ingredients and minimal effort, you can have a flavorful and juicy pork chop dinner on the table in no time.
