Tips:

  • Using ripe, fresh apples will result in the most flavorful muffin. Choose apples that are slightly tart, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, to balance the sweetness of the muffin.
  • If you don't have applesauce, you can make your own by peeling and coring 2 cups of apples, then cooking them in a saucepan with 1/4 cup of water and a sprinkle of cinnamon until soft. Mash the apples with a fork or potato masher until smooth.
  • To make sure your muffins are moist, don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in tough, dry muffins.
  • If you want to add extra flavor to your muffins, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or a handful of chopped walnuts or raisins to the batter.
  • Applesauce muffins are best when fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the muffins for up to 2 months. To freeze, place the muffins in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Then, transfer the muffins to a freezer-safe bag.

Conclusion:

Applesauce muffins are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a snack. They are also a great way to use up leftover applesauce. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can enjoy these delicious muffins in no time.
