Steps:
- Combine all the ingredients but the ham in a small bowl.
- Grill the ham, turning one time.
- Brush frequently with the molasses sauce.
- Grill about 6-8 minutes, until light brown.
- (This could be broiled.).
Tips:
- Use a good quality molasses. A dark, robust molasses will give the glaze a richer flavor.
- Don't boil the glaze. Boiling will make the glaze thick and syrupy. Instead, bring it to a simmer and then remove it from the heat.
- Let the glaze cool slightly before brushing it on the ham. This will help the glaze to adhere to the ham better.
- Brush the glaze on the ham several times during the baking process. This will help to keep the ham moist and flavorful.
- If you don't have any molasses, you can substitute brown sugar or honey.
Conclusion:
A molasses glaze is a simple but delicious way to add flavor and moisture to your holiday ham. With just a few ingredients, you can create a glaze that will make your ham the star of the show. Whether you're serving it for a special occasion or just a weeknight dinner, a molasses glaze is sure to please everyone at the table.
