Tips:

  • Use fresh, soft dates. This will ensure that the bars are chewy and moist. If your dates are dry, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes before using.
  • Pack the mixture firmly into the pan. This will help the bars stay together when you cut them.
  • Bake the bars until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them. This will help them hold their shape.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

These molasses date bars are a delicious and healthy treat that is perfect for a snack or dessert. They are made with wholesome ingredients and are naturally sweetened with dates, making them a good choice for people with dietary restrictions. The bars are also easy to make and can be tailored to your own preferences. For example, you can add nuts, seeds, or dried fruit to the mixture.
