CLASSIC FUDGE WALNUT BROWNIES

Classic Fudge Walnut Brownies image

These Classic Fudge Walnut Brownies are deliciously rich with a fabulous dense texture. They are quick and easy to make and SO much better than a boxed mix!

Provided by Valerie Brunmeier

Categories     Dessert

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 12

3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 ounces bittersweet chocolate (coarsely chopped, divided)
1/3 cup milk
6 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (divided)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat an 8- or 9-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, brown sugar, baking powder and salt in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
  • Place half of the bittersweet chocolate and the milk in a small saucepan and place over LOW heat. Cook and stir for a minute or two and then add the butter. Continue cooking over LOW heat, stirring constantly, until the butter and chocolate have completely melted. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
  • Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the flour mixture in the mixing bowl and stir until slightly combined. Add the eggs, remaining bittersweet chocolate, and 1/4 cup of the walnuts (reserve remaining nuts for later) to the flour mixture; stir to combine.
  • Pour the batter into prepared baking dish and sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup walnuts.
  • Bake until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs clinging, approximately 20 to 22 minutes for 9-inch baking dish or 22 to 26 minutes for a 8-inch baking dish. The edges should seem solid but the center will appear somewhat soft and will continue to set up as the brownies cool. Ovens can vary so I recommend setting your kitchen timer for a couple of minutes shy of the recommended baking times and watching them closely towards the end. Remove from the oven and cool completely in the baking dish before cutting and serving.

Number Of Ingredients 8

Nonstick vegetable oil spray
10 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 1/4 cups sugar
3/4 cup natural unsweetened cocoa powder (spooned into cup to measure, then leveled)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs, chilled
1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon unbleached all purpose flour
1 cup walnut pieces

Steps:

  • Position rack in bottom third of oven; preheat to 325°F. Line 8 x 8 x 2-inch metal baking pan with foil, pressing foil firmly against pan sides and leaving 2-inch overhang. Remove from heat; immediately add sugar, cocoa, 2 teaspoons water, vanilla, and 1⁄4 teaspoon (generous) salt. Stir to blend. Let cool 5 minutes (mixture will still be hot). Add eggs to hot mixture 1 at a time, beating vigorously to blend after each addition. When mixture looks thick and shiny, add flour and stir until blended. Beat vigorously 60 strokes. Stir in nuts. Transfer batter to prepared pan.
  • Bake brownies until toothpick inserted into center comes out almost clean (with a few moist crumbs attached), about 25 minutes. Cool in pan on rack. Using foil overhang, lift brownies from pan. ABSOLUTELY BEST BROWNIES

Absolutely Best Brownies image

This are the easiest and most delicious brownies that I have ever eaten. They are so moist and super quick and easy to make. For best results, use a Dutch processed cocoa. For less cake-like brownies, use all-purpose flour instead of self rising.

Provided by COUNTRYDAYZ

Categories     Desserts     Cookies     Brownie Recipes     Nut Brownie Recipes

Time 30m

Yield 12

Number Of Ingredients 8

½ cup butter, melted

2 eggs
½ cup self-rising flour
⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8x8 or 9x9 inch baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl, beat together the butter and sugar. Add eggs, and mix well. Combine the flour, cocoa and salt; stir into the sugar mixture. Mix in the vanilla and stir in walnuts if desired. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are firm. Cool before cutting into squares.

Tips:

  • Use a high-quality cocoa powder for the best flavor. A Dutch-processed cocoa powder will give you a darker, richer brownie.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the brownies tough.
  • Bake the brownies in a preheated oven. This will help them rise evenly.
  • Don't overbake the brownies. Overbaked brownies will be dry and crumbly.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them. This will help them hold their shape.
  • Store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Conclusion:

Moist walnut brownies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a batch of brownies that will be sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a sweet and satisfying snack, give these moist walnut brownies a try. You won't be disappointed!
