Tips:

  • For a moist and flavorful loaf cake, use fresh lemons or oranges. The zest and juice from the fruit add a burst of citrusy flavor.
  • Be sure to cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will help to incorporate air into the batter, resulting in a tender and airy cake.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. This will help to prevent the batter from curdling.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Overmixing can result in a tough cake.
  • Bake the cake in a preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The baking time will vary depending on the size of the loaf pan.
  • Let the cake cool completely before glazing or frosting. This will help to prevent the glaze or frosting from melting.

Conclusion:

This moist lemon or orange loaf cake is a delicious and versatile treat that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dessert. The citrusy flavor is perfect for springtime, but this cake can be enjoyed all year round. With its simple ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, this recipe is sure to become a favorite in your kitchen.
