Tips:
- Choose the right berries. Use a variety of berries for the best flavor, such as blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries.
- Don't overcook the berries. Cook them just until they are tender, about 10 minutes, otherwise they will become mushy.
- Use a large skillet or Dutch oven. This will give the berries plenty of room to cook evenly.
- Serve the slump warm or at room temperature. It can be topped with whipped cream, ice cream, or a dollop of sour cream.
- Make ahead. The slump can be made up to 2 days ahead of time and refrigerated. Just reheat it gently before serving.
Conclusion:
Mixed berry slump is a classic summer dessert that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its sweet and tart berries, flaky crust, and creamy topping, it's the perfect way to end a meal or enjoy a special occasion. So next time you have a craving for something sweet, give this mixed berry slump a try. You won't be disappointed!
