TEXAS ROADHOUSE GREEN BEANS (COPYCAT)

Texas Roadhouse Green Beans (Copycat) image

We really like these green beans at TRH and after a little searching found this recipe. Recipe is courtesy of WTVR, Richmond, VA. When a friend of mine started working there, I asked if this is how they prepare their green beans and she shook her head yes, but said no with a smile. I have included both variations for this recipe; choose the one to your liking. Cook/simmer time is approximate.

Pour 2 undrained cans of beans into the mixture, and stir the bacon back into the beans. Stir lightly to combine. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use fresh green beans. If using frozen green beans, thaw them completely before cooking.
  • Trim the green beans by snapping off the ends. You can also use a sharp knife to cut off the ends.
  • To blanch the green beans, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp. Drain the green beans and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  • For the bacon, cook it until it is crispy. You can do this in a skillet over medium heat or in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • For the sauce, whisk together the vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Add the crispy bacon and green beans to the sauce and stir to coat.
  • Serve the green beans warm or at room temperature.

Conclusion:

These Mission BBQ Green Beans are a delicious and easy side dish that is perfect for any occasion. They are made with fresh green beans, crispy bacon, and a tangy sauce. The best part is that they can be made in just 30 minutes! So next time you are looking for a quick and easy side dish, give these green beans a try.
