MILK CHOCOLATE POPCORN

Categories     Popcorn

Number Of Ingredients 5

12 c popped popcorn
12 oz salted peanuts
1 c corn syrup
1/4 c butter
12 oz milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. In a large greased roasting pan, combine popcorn and nuts.
  • 2. In a large heavy saucepan combine chocolate chips, corn syrup and butter.
  • 3. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils, stirring constantly.
  • 4. Pour mixture over popcorn and toss well to coat.
  • 5. Bake in a preheated 300 degree oven for 45 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • 6. Cool completely.
  • 7. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

Tips:

  • Use fresh popcorn kernels. Fresh kernels will pop better and result in a more flavorful popcorn.
  • Preheat your pot or air popper before adding the kernels. This will help to ensure that the kernels pop evenly.
  • Don't overcrowd the pot or air popper. If you add too many kernels, they won't pop properly and you'll end up with a lot of unpopped kernels.
  • Keep an eye on the popcorn while it's popping. Once the popping starts to slow down, remove the pot or air popper from the heat to prevent burning.
  • Add the melted chocolate and mix well. Make sure the chocolate is evenly distributed over the popcorn.
  • Sprinkle with additional toppings, if desired. Some popular toppings include sea salt, cinnamon sugar, or chopped nuts.
  • Let the popcorn cool completely before storing it. This will help to prevent the chocolate from melting.

Conclusion:

Milk chocolate popcorn is a delicious and easy-to-make snack that's perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a sweet and salty treat that the whole family will enjoy. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy snack, give milk chocolate popcorn a try.
