Categories     Food & Cooking     Drink Recipes

Number Of Ingredients 3

1/2 ounce dried verbena leaves
1/2 cup superfine sugar
1 1/3 cups freshly squeezed Meyer-lemon juice (about 12 lemons)

Steps:

  • Prepare an ice bath. In a medium saucepan combine 1 quart water and verbena leaves. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; cover, and remove from heat. Allow to steep for about 20 minutes. Chill.
  • Place tea, sugar, lemon juice, and 4 cups ice in a 3-quart pitcher. Stir with a wooden spoon to dissolve sugar.

Tips:

  • Use ripe Meyer lemons: The riper the lemons, the sweeter and more flavorful the lemonade will be.
  • Zest the lemons before juicing them: This will release the essential oils from the lemon zest, which will add a bright, citrusy flavor to the lemonade.
  • Use a combination of granulated and powdered sugar: This will help the lemonade to dissolve more easily and prevent it from becoming gritty.
  • Chill the lemonade before serving: This will make the lemonade more refreshing and thirst-quenching.
  • Garnish the lemonade with a lemon slice or sprig of mint: This will add a pop of color and flavor to the lemonade.

Conclusion:

Meyer lemonade is a delicious and refreshing drink that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With its bright, citrusy flavor and subtle sweetness, Meyer lemonade is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering. So next time you have a craving for something sweet and refreshing, reach for a glass of Meyer lemonade.
