2 large eggs
2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter
4 heaping tablespoons cocoa powder

2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter

  • Drizzle the cakes with Cinnamon Hot Fudge Sauce and top with scoops of vanilla ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream and a cherry.
  • Add the sugar, cream, cocoa, butter and cinnamon to a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until the butter melts, about 15 minutes. Transfer to a mason jar and store in the fridge. (The sauce will harden as it cools, so reheat in a pan over medium heat when ready to use.)

Yield 60

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cups white sugar
½ cup cocoa
1 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Grease an 8x8 inch square baking pan. Set aside.
  • Combine sugar, cocoa and milk in a medium saucepan. Stir to blend, then bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer. Do not stir again.
  • Place candy thermometer in pan and cook until temperature reaches 238 degrees F(114 degrees C). If you are not using a thermometer, then cook until a drop of this mixture in a cup of cold water forms a soft ball. Feel the ball with your fingers to make sure it is the right consistency. It should flatten when pressed between your fingers.
  • Remove from heat. Add butter or margarine and vanilla extract. Beat with a wooden spoon until the fudge loses its sheen. Do not under beat.
  • Pour into prepared pan and let cool. Cut into about 60 squares.

Tips:

  • Prep your ingredients: Before you start cooking, measure and chop all of your ingredients so that they're ready to go. This will help you stay organized and prevent any scrambling.
  • Use a large skillet: A large skillet will give you plenty of room to stir and cook the fudge without it sticking or burning.
  • Cook the fudge over medium heat: Medium heat will help the fudge to cook evenly and prevent it from burning.
  • Stir the fudge constantly: Stirring the fudge constantly will help to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the skillet and will also help to distribute the heat evenly.
  • Don't overcook the fudge: The fudge is done when it has reached a soft-ball stage, which means that a small amount of the fudge dropped into cold water will form a soft ball that can be easily picked up with your fingers.
  • Let the fudge cool completely before cutting it: This will help the fudge to set and will make it easier to cut into pieces.

Conclusion:

Mexican skillet fudge is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a rich and flavorful fudge that will satisfy your sweet tooth. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy dessert, give Mexican skillet fudge a try!
