Time 35m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 tablespoon oil
1 red capsicum, thinly sliced
1 yellow capsicum, thinly sliced
1 small red onion, sliced
1 cup passata
500 g Italian sausages
1/4 cup fresh basil, finely chopped
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
40 g baby spinach leaves
4 Italian rolls, lightly toasted

Steps:

  • Heat oil; cook capsicum and onion for 8-10 minutes or until soft and golden, stir in passata, season with salt and pepper. Cook stirring for 1 minute. Remove from heat and keep warm.
  • Preheat an oiled BBQ.
  • Remove casings from sausages and place sausage mince in a mixing bowl, add basil and parmesan; mix well to combine.
  • Shape mixture into 4 patties, cook for 3-4 minutes each side or until done.
  • Place spinach on base of rolls, top with patties, then capsicum mixture and serve.

Tips:

  • For the most flavorful burgers, use high-quality ground lamb and beef.
  • Be sure to season the meat well with a variety of spices. The recipe provided includes a blend of cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper, but you can adjust the spices to your liking.
  • Don't overmix the meat. Overmixing can make the burgers tough.
  • Form the meat into patties that are about 1/2-inch thick. This will ensure that they cook evenly.
  • Cook the burgers over medium heat. This will help to prevent them from burning on the outside while still cooking through on the inside.
  • Top the burgers with your favorite toppings. Some popular choices include feta cheese, tzatziki sauce, red onion, and tomatoes.
  • Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides. Some good options include roasted potatoes, grilled vegetables, or a simple salad.

Conclusion:

These Mediterranean Chi-Chi Burgers are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that are perfect for a summer cookout or a quick weeknight dinner. The combination of lamb and beef gives the burgers a unique flavor, and the Mediterranean spices add a touch of sophistication. Serve them with your favorite toppings and sides for a complete meal that everyone will enjoy.
