Tips:

  • Choose the right ground meat: A combination of ground beef and pork is a classic choice for meatballs, but you can also use all beef, all pork, or even a mixture of ground turkey or chicken.
  • Use fresh bread crumbs: Fresh bread crumbs will help to keep the meatballs moist and tender. You can make your own bread crumbs by tearing or grating day-old bread, or you can buy them from the store.
  • Don't overmix the meatball mixture: Overmixing will make the meatballs tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Brown the meatballs before simmering them in sauce: Browning the meatballs will help to develop their flavor and prevent them from falling apart in the sauce.
  • Use a good quality barbecue sauce: The barbecue sauce is the star of this dish, so make sure you use a sauce that you enjoy. You can use a store-bought sauce or make your own.

Conclusion:

These meatballs in homemade barbecue sauce are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a party. The meatballs are tender and flavorful, and the barbecue sauce is tangy and sweet. Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta, and enjoy!
