3/4 cup panko
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon garlic salt

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 very large (softball size) onion, halved and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons flour
2 (10.5-oz.) cans condensed beef broth
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
salt, to taste
