Tips:

  • To make the stuffing ahead of time, prepare it according to the recipe and then let it cool completely. Store the stuffing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. When ready to bake, bring the stuffing to room temperature and then bake according to the recipe instructions.
  • If you don't have any matzo meal, you can make your own by crushing matzo crackers in a food processor or blender until they resemble fine crumbs.
  • For a vegetarian stuffing, omit the chicken broth and use vegetable broth instead. You can also add other vegetables to your stuffing, such as chopped carrots, celery, or mushrooms.
  • To make a gluten-free stuffing, use gluten-free matzo meal and gluten-free bread cubes.
  • If you don't have any eggs, you can use a flax egg instead. To make a flax egg, combine 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed with 3 tablespoons of water and let it sit for 5 minutes. The mixture will thicken and become gel-like.
