MARGIE'S SOUR CREAM PORK CHOPS

Margie's Sour Cream Pork Chops image

This is a recipe my Grandma Margie has been making for the past 40 years and it's our favorite pork chop recipe. They're kind of sweet and kind of sour, but absolutely wonderful! You can also substitute 6 ounces of cream cheese for the sour cream if that's what you have on hand, in which case you should bake the dish covered. These chops are great served with rice pilaf, mashed potatoes, or over pasta, with a salad on the side. Enjoy!

Tips:

  • To ensure the pork chops are juicy and flavorful, choose chops that are at least 1 inch thick.
  • Brining the pork chops in a mixture of salt, sugar, and water for at least 30 minutes before cooking will help to tenderize them and keep them moist.
  • Season the pork chops generously with salt and pepper before cooking. This will help to enhance their flavor.
  • Cook the pork chops over medium-high heat until they are browned on both sides. This will help to create a flavorful crust.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook the pork chops for an additional 5-7 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Allow the pork chops to rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful chop.
