SUGARED CORN POPS
Seriously the BEST snack you can make for parties or holidays or just for fun! But warning- they are VERY addicting! :) *NOTE: The corn pops are in the chip isle in the grocery store. They are the puffed corn pops (not the cereal) in a large bag (about a 2 lb bag), Get the original (because there is kettle flavor also). They are not a huge name brand, I think they are made from "Circus". But any brand will be fine.

Steps:
- Mix and boil to soft ball.
- Pour the mixture over the corn pops and stir until corn pops are completely covered in sugar mixture.
- Add slivered almonds and shredded coconut if desired.
Tips:
- Choose the right corn: Use fresh, sweet corn for the best flavor. If using frozen corn, thaw it completely before using.
- Don't overcook the corn: Corn pops are best when they are slightly crunchy. Overcooking will make them tough and chewy.
- Use a large pot: The corn will expand as it pops, so it's important to use a large pot to prevent it from boiling over.
- Be careful not to burn the oil: Heat the oil over medium heat and keep a close eye on it. If the oil starts to smoke, reduce the heat.
- Season the corn pops to taste: You can add salt, pepper, garlic powder, or other seasonings to the corn pops after they have popped.
- Serve the corn pops immediately: Corn pops are best eaten fresh out of the pot. They can be served as a snack, side dish, or topping for salads, soups, and other dishes.
Conclusion:
Maryland corn pops are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or side dish. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can enjoy this classic Maryland treat in your own home. So next time you're looking for a fun and tasty snack, give Maryland corn pops a try!
