Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pkg ( 16 ounce) large marshmallows
2 c milk
1 1/2 tsp lemon extract
1 can(s) ( 20 ounces) crushed pineapple, drained
2 c whipping cream, whipped
2 c graham cracker crumbs ( about 32 squares)
1/2 c butter, melted

Steps:

  • 1. In a heavy saucepan over low heat, melt marshmallows and milk. Remove from heat. Cool, stirring occasionally. Stir in extract. Fold in pineapple and whipped cream. Combine cracker crumbs and butter. Press 1 1/2 cups into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Spread with the pineapple mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining crumb mixture. Refrigerate for 2 - 3 hours before serving.

Tips:

- Use fresh, soft marshmallows for the best results. Stale or hard marshmallows will not melt properly and will result in a grainy texture. - To easily cut the marshmallows, dip your knife in hot water and wipe it dry before each cut. This will prevent the marshmallows from sticking to the knife. - If you don't have a microwave, you can melt the marshmallows in a double boiler. To do this, fill a saucepan with a few inches of water and bring it to a simmer. Place a heatproof bowl over the saucepan and add the marshmallows. Stir constantly until the marshmallows are melted and smooth. - You can use any type of graham crackers you like for this recipe. Honey graham crackers, chocolate graham crackers, or cinnamon graham crackers would all be delicious options. - If you don't have heavy cream, you can use milk instead. However, the frosting will be slightly thinner and less rich. - This dessert can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. However, the graham crackers will soften over time, so it's best to eat the dessert within a few days of making it.

Conclusion:

This marshmallow graham dessert is a classic for a reason. It's easy to make, delicious, and loved by people of all ages. With its creamy frosting, crunchy graham crackers, and gooey marshmallows, this dessert is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering. So next time you're looking for a sweet and satisfying treat, give this marshmallow graham dessert a try. You won't be disappointed!
