MARINATED FILET MIGNON

This recipe is similar to the recipe used by Massa's restaurant in Houston. They serve it with their pan roasted fresh vegetable medley (also posted this recipe separately). It's so simple and quick, but impressive, that it's a great recipe for entertaining. Note: I had to give a cooking time, but that varies depending on whether you are grilling steaks (also how thick your steaks are) or if you are roasting the tenderloin.

Tips:

  • To ensure the best flavor, choose high-quality filet mignon steaks that are at least 1 inch thick.
  • For the marinade, use a combination of olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper. This will help tenderize the steaks and infuse them with flavor.
  • Allow the steaks to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight. The longer they marinate, the more flavorful they will be.
  • When cooking the steaks, use a hot skillet or grill to sear them quickly. This will help to create a nice crust on the outside while keeping the inside tender and juicy.
  • To make the flavored butter, combine softened butter with minced garlic, parsley, and lemon zest. This will add a delicious finishing touch to the steaks.
  • Serve the marinated filet mignon with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a green salad.

Conclusion:

Marinated filet mignon with flavored butter is a classic dish that is sure to impress your guests. The tender and juicy steaks are packed with flavor, and the flavored butter adds a delicious finishing touch. This dish is perfect for a special occasion or a romantic dinner at home.
