MARINATED BEEF TENDERLOIN

MARINATED BEEF TENDERLOIN image

Categories     Beef     Roast     Christmas     Quick & Easy     New Year's Eve     Healthy     Christmas Eve

Yield 6-8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup soy sauce
3/4 cup beef broth
1/2 cup olive oil
2 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
4 to 5 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 bay leaf
1 whole beef tenderloin (3-1/2 to to 4 pounds)

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the first nine ingredients; mix well. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to use. Save 1 cup for basting. When you are ready, pour marinade into a large plastic bag add bay leaf and tenderloin. Seal bag and turn to coat, then refrigerate overnight. Drain and discard marinade and bay leaf. Place tenderloin on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake, uncovered, at 425 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes or until meat reaches desired doneness (for rare, a meat thermometer should read 140 degrees, medium, 160 degrees; well-done, 170 degrees), basting often with reserved 1 cup of marinade. Let stand for 15 minutes before slicing.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: Tenderloin is the most tender cut of beef, making it ideal for marinating. You can also use flank steak, skirt steak, or hanger steak.
  • Use a flavorful marinade: The marinade is what will give your beef tenderloins their flavor. Be sure to use a marinade that contains a good balance of acids, oils, and herbs and spices. Some popular marinade ingredients include olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and rosemary.
  • Marinate the beef for at least 4 hours, or up to overnight: The longer you marinate the beef, the more flavor it will absorb. If you're short on time, you can marinate the beef for as little as 30 minutes, but the flavor will be less pronounced.
  • Cook the beef tenderloins over medium-high heat: This will help to sear the outside of the beef and keep it juicy and tender on the inside.
  • Let the beef rest for a few minutes before slicing it: This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the beef, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.

Conclusion:

Marinated beef tenderloins are a delicious and easy-to-prepare dish that is perfect for any occasion. By following these tips, you can make sure that your marinated beef tenderloins are cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor.
