MARGARITA JELLO SHOTS OF THE JELLO MASTERS

Margarita Jello Shots of the Jello Masters image

Inspiration for this shot comes from the Jello Maven himself, Chaz Bosten Baden, and his archive of Jello shot recipes at http://www.boston-baden.com/hazel/Jello/. I have altered it to suit my tastes and used many other shots from his site, having since been named the "Jello Shot Master" by my friends.

MARGARITA JELLO SHOT

Margarita Jello Shot image

Cooking time is cooling time in fridge. You can substitute watermelon Jell-O for lime for a melon margarita.

Provided by Virginia Cherry Blo

Categories     Beverages

Time 2h5m

Yield 20 1 oz shots, 20 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

3 ounces lime Jell-O gelatin
1 cup boiling water (8 ounces)
4 ounces tequila
4 ounces margarita mix (or Sweet and Sour mix)

Steps:

  • Bring water to a rolling boil, then remove from heat.
  • Stir together boiling water and powdered gelatin in a mixing bowl. Stir constantly until gelatin is completely dissolved.
  • Stir in cold water and alcohol.
  • Pour mixture into ,individual shot-size (1oz-2oz) plastic or paper cups. ****To make the Jello easier to consume, buy plastic cups that also have lids. Pour the mix into the cup, add the lid, then turn it upside down prior to refrigeration.
  • Place shots on a tray in refrigerator (not the freezer). Chill until firm (approximately 2-4 hours). Refrigerate until served.

Tips:

  • Use fresh limes for the best flavor. Bottled lime juice can be used, but it will not have the same bright, citrusy taste.
  • Chill the tequila, triple sec, and lime juice before making the jello shots. This will help them set faster and make them more refreshing.
  • If you don't have lime-flavored gelatin, you can use unflavored gelatin and add lime zest and lime juice to taste.
  • Be careful not to overmix the jello shots. Overmixing can cause them to become cloudy and less smooth.
  • Chill the jello shots for at least 4 hours before serving. This will give them time to set properly.
  • Garnish the jello shots with lime wedges or slices before serving.

Conclusion:

Margarita jello shots are a delicious and refreshing way to enjoy your favorite cocktail. They are perfect for parties, gatherings, or any other occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can easily make these tasty treats at home. So next time you're looking for a fun and festive drink, give margarita jello shots a try!
