HOMEMADE CHEX® PARTY MIX

Homemade Chex® Party Mix image

This homemade snack mix recipe my mom has had since it originated in the 1940s. This was always a holiday favorite at our house. So much better than the newer versions with a richer flavor with the extra butter. This is a very hard-to-find recipe so I thought I'd share. Great to put in tins and give away. I always quadruple the recipe and store extra in freezer. Store in an airtight container or large zip-top bags.

  • Use fresh ingredients: This will help ensure that your Chex Mix is flavorful and delicious.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When baking the Chex Mix, make sure to spread it out in a single layer so that it cooks evenly.
  • Stir the Chex Mix frequently: This will help prevent it from burning.
  • Be careful not to overcook the Chex Mix: It should be golden brown, not dark brown.
  • Let the Chex Mix cool completely before storing it: This will help prevent it from becoming soggy.
