Tips:

  • Use softened butter: This will make it easier to cream together with the sugar and help create a smooth, light batter.
  • Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy: This will help incorporate air into the batter, resulting in a lighter, more tender cake.
  • Gradually add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition: This will help prevent the batter from curdling.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter: Overmixing can toughen the cake.
  • Divide the batter into two equal parts and add food coloring to one part: This will create the marbled effect.
  • Swirl the two batters together gently: Be careful not to overmix, or the marbling will disappear.
  • Bake the cake in a preheated oven: This will help ensure that the cake rises evenly.
  • Cool the cake completely before frosting: This will help prevent the frosting from melting.

Conclusion:

Marble squares are a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and always a hit with everyone who tries them. With a few simple tips, you can make perfect marble squares every time.
