1 cup white sugar
½ cup water
6 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 cup pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¾ cup crumbled, cooked maple bacon
1 teaspoon baking soda

Steps:

  • Bring sugar, water, corn syrup, and maple syrup to a boil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Heat to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C), or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a rigid ball.
  • Stir pecans and vanilla into syrup mixture until mixture begins to turn brown; add bacon. Cook until bacon mixture turns light brown, 1 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir baking soda into bacon mixture. Pour brittle out onto a sheet of parchment paper set on a heat-proof surface and cool brittle to room temperature before breaking into pieces, at least 30 minutes.

Categories     Meat Breakfast

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 3

12 slice thick cut bacon
1/3 c maple syrup, plus extra for drizzling
1 c pecans, finely chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Line a rimmed-baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack inside. Dredge the bacon in the maple syrup and lay out on the wire rack.
  • 2. Press finely chopped pecans into surface. Bake at 400-degrees for 25-30 minutes. Drizzle a small amount of additional maple syrup over the top and let cool for 5 minutes.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality ingredients: Use real maple syrup, thick-cut bacon, and fresh pecans for the best flavor.
  • Cook the bacon until it is crispy: This will help to render out the fat and give the bacon a delicious crunch.
  • Toast the pecans: Toasting the pecans will bring out their natural flavor and make them more fragrant.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed skillet: This will help to prevent the maple syrup from burning.
  • Cook the maple syrup and pecans until they are thick and syrupy: This will take about 5-7 minutes.
  • Serve the maple pecan bacon immediately: This dish is best enjoyed fresh and warm.

Conclusion:

Maple pecan bacon is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a snack. It is also a great way to use up leftover bacon. With its sweet, salty, and smoky flavor, maple pecan bacon is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
