Tips:
- Choose the right carrots: Look for baby carrots that are about 2-3 inches long and have a smooth, even surface. Avoid carrots that are too thick or have blemishes.
- Peel the carrots: If desired, you can peel the carrots before cooking them. However, this is not necessary if you are using baby carrots that are already peeled.
- Cook the carrots until tender: You can cook the carrots in a variety of ways, including boiling, steaming, or roasting. Cook the carrots until they are tender but still slightly firm.
- Make the glaze: While the carrots are cooking, make the glaze by combining maple syrup, butter, brown sugar, and spices in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the glaze has thickened.
- Glaze the carrots: Once the carrots are cooked, add them to the glaze and stir to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the carrots are evenly glazed.
Conclusion:
Maple glazed baby carrots are a delicious and easy side dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for a weeknight meal or a special occasion. With their sweet and savory flavor, these carrots are sure to be a hit at your next gathering.
