Tips:

  • Choose the right carrots: For the best flavor and texture, select fresh, young carrots that are about the same size. Avoid carrots that are too thick or have blemishes.
  • Prep your carrots properly: Peel and trim the carrots, then cut them into uniform pieces. This will help them cook evenly.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When sautéing the carrots, make sure not to overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly and becoming mushy.
  • Use a good quality maple syrup: The type of maple syrup you use will have a big impact on the flavor of the dish. Choose a pure maple syrup that is dark and amber in color.
  • Taste and adjust the seasonings: Once the carrots are cooked, taste them and adjust the seasonings as needed. You may want to add more maple syrup, dill, or salt and pepper.
