Created to satisfy my craving for maple & cinnamon. It's a twist on the favorite chocolate chip cookie. Not too sweet but a good and different cookie

Number Of Ingredients 14

2 1/2 c all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 c granulate sugar
1 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 stick butter (softened)
1/2 c shortening
2 large eggs
1/2 c maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
4 oz mini cinnamon chips
4 oz pecans, in pieces
1 part cinnamon 2 parts sugar blended

Steps:

  • 1. Sift all dry ingredients(flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon) together set aside
  • 2. In a stand mixer, using paddle attachment on medium speed, cream butter and shortening until well blended, add sugars, continue to mix, add eggs one at a time, until all ingredients are incorporated, scraping sides of bowl, frequently.
  • 3. Slowly (on slow speed) add flour mixture a little at a time, until risk of flour flying out, is gone. Then increase speed to medium, continue mixing until it's the consistency of soft dough. Hand stir in nuts and cinnamon chips to dough until well blended. Cover and chill for an hour (or overnight is fine)
  • 4. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. drop tablespoon size onto cookie sheet spacing 2 inches apart. Bake at 350: 10-12 minutes. Cookies will have a soft center with crispy edge. Sprinkle with sugar/cinnamon mixture while still warm. Cool, Enjoy!

GLAZE:
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until well blended. Beat in vanilla and eggs, one at a time. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Stir in cinnamon chips. Spread into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar., Bake until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 20-25 minutes. 1/3 cup butter
2/3 cup light brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup thick maple syrup
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon milk
1 cup confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl cream butter with an electric mixer. Then add brown sugar and mix until combined. Add syrup,egg and mix thoroughly.
