4 cups water
4 teaspoons loose green tea (or 2 green tea bags)
1/2 cup mango puree (made using fresh or frozen mangoes or use canned puree)
2 teaspoons sugar
2 tablespoons lime juice

Steps:

  • Bring water to a boil on high heat in a medium-size saucepan.
  • Once the water comes to a boil, switch off the heat.
  • Add green tea to the pan and give it a gentle stir.
  • Cover the pan with a lid and let the tea steep for 1 minute. Do not steep for more than a minute otherwise, it will turn bitter.
  • Strain the tea using a tea strainer in a jug and let it cool down.
  • Once the tea is cooled, add mango puree, sugar, and lime juice and stir until sugar is dissolved. If you like your tea sweet, add more sugar.
  • Fill 4 tall glasses with ice and pour the tea over the ice. Garnish with mint leaves and serve chilled.

1 mango , peeled, stoned and chopped
100g granulated sugar
4 tsp green tea leaves
small bunch fresh mint
1 lime , sliced
ice

Steps:

  • Put half the mango in a saucepan with the sugar and 100ml water. Cook for 8-10 mins then strain through a sieve and leave the liquid to cool.
  • Meanwhile, pour 500ml boiling water into a large heatproof jug and add the green tea leaves. Leave to steep for 5 mins, then strain into a large glass jug and add 300ml cold water. Leave to cool completely then put into the fridge to chill.
  • Once cold, add the strained mango syrup to the chilled tea, along with the rest of the chopped mango, fresh mint and the lime slices. Fill up the jug with ice, stir gently and serve.

6 high quality black tea bags
2 cups mango nectar
Sugar
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

Steps:

  • Bring water to a boil, turn off heat add tea bags and steep until tea is dark, about 5 minutes. Remove bags, add mango nectar and add sugar, to taste. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Place in pitcher and add mint leaves. Pour over ice and garnish with mango slices.
