Seven-Layer Shrimp Dip With Mango Salsa image

Be sure to use a thickish tortilla chip with this tropical appetizer. This dip will disappear quickly. You may use regular salsa or any fruit salsa you prefer. You may also layer this on a decorative serving dish, which is what I usually do.

1 jar mango-peach salsa
colby jack cheese
tortilla chips

Steps:

  • Use a variety of peppers: Feel free to adjust the heat level of your salsa by using different types of peppers. For a milder salsa, use sweet bell peppers. For a spicier salsa, use jalapeƱos or habaneros.
  • Add some sweetness: If your mangoes are not very sweet, you can add a bit of honey, agave nectar, or sugar to the salsa. This will help to balance out the flavors and make the salsa more enjoyable.
  • Chop the ingredients finely: The smaller the pieces of fruit and vegetables are, the better the salsa will blend together. This will also make it easier to eat.
  • Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs, such as cilantro and mint, can add a lot of flavor to mango salsa. If you don't have any fresh herbs on hand, you can use dried herbs, but they will not have as much flavor.
  • Let the salsa chill: After you have made the salsa, let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together and develop.

With its sweet, spicy, and tangy flavor, mango salsa is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
