MANGO-PASSIONFRUIT MOJITOS

Mango-Passionfruit Mojitos image

A tasty riff on the mojito, this gorgeous cocktail adds tropical flavors to the traditional rum-based drink. Puréed mango brings a lush texture and rounded fruit flavor, while store-bought passionfruit juice introduces a clean and refreshing tartness; a sprinkle of specialty coconut-sea salt over the ice cubes adds crunch and balance.

MANGO MOJITOS

Mango Mojitos image

This recipe was a total accident. Never thought when I asked for light rum that I would be given mango-flavored rum, but it turned out wonderfully. Nice and tropical, yet has that cool, minty flavor.

MANGO AND SPEARMINT CHRISTMAS MOJITOS

Categories     beverage

Time 25m

Yield 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 cups sugar
1 bunch fresh spearmint, stems removed
2 limes, sliced, plus 1 1/2 cups fresh lime juice
1 1/2 cups mango-infused rum
4 cups club soda
Frozen mango slices, for garnish

Steps:

  • For the simple syrup: Place the sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture constantly and cook until mixture is fully dissolved, about 5 minutes. (This recipe will make more than you need for the mojitos but the extra can be stored in the refrigerator and used for other beverages or to cook with.)
  • For the mojitos: Add mint leaves, sliced limes and 1 cup simple syrup to a large (48-ounce) pitcher. Muddle these ingredients together with a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon.
  • Add the rum, club soda and lime juice. Add ice and stir. Divide mixture among 8 glasses and garnish with slices of frozen mango.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe mangoes: The riper the mangoes, the sweeter and more flavorful your mojitos will be.
  • Use fresh mint: Fresh mint is essential for mojitos. If you don't have fresh mint, you can use dried mint, but it won't be as flavorful.
  • Use a good quality rum: The rum is the main ingredient in mojitos, so it's important to use a good quality rum. Look for a light or white rum that is smooth and flavorful.
  • Don't over-muddle the mint: When you muddle the mint, you want to release the flavor, but you don't want to bruise the mint leaves. Over-muddling the mint will make your mojitos bitter.
  • Serve mojitos immediately: Mojitos are best served immediately after they are made. The longer they sit, the more the flavors will fade.

Conclusion:

Mango mojitos are a refreshing and flavorful cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be enjoyed by everyone. Whether you are hosting a party or just relaxing at home, mango mojitos are a delicious and refreshing drink that you will love.
