MANGO LIME SANGRIA

Mango Lime Sangria image

I don't usually drink wine, but tried this recipe and it could lead to me becoming a "winehead". This is such a great summer drink. This can be garnished with fresh mint or lavender. For some reason it would not recognize dry rose' wine, but that is what I used.

RIESLING SANGRIA WITH MANGO AND NECTARINE

Riesling Sangria with Mango and Nectarine image

Provided by Bobby Flay

Categories     beverage

Time 2h5m

Yield 4 to 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 bottle cold sweet Riesling
2 cups mango nectar
1/2 cup peach eau de vie
1 lime, halved and thinly sliced
1 ripe nectarine, halved pitted and thinly sliced
1 orange, halved and thinly sliced
1 bottle or can club soda

Steps:

  • Stir together the Riesling, mango nectar, eau de vie, limes, nectarines and oranges in a pitcher. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours and up to 24 hours.
  • Serve over ice in white wine glasses and top with a splash of club soda.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe mangoes. Ripe mangoes are sweeter and have a more intense flavor than unripe mangoes. Look for mangoes that are yellow or orange in color and have a slight give when pressed.
  • Use fresh limes. Fresh limes have a brighter, more tart flavor than bottled lime juice. If you don't have fresh limes, you can use bottled lime juice, but be sure to use half the amount.
  • Sweeten to taste. The amount of sugar you add to the sangria will depend on your personal preference. If you like your sangria sweet, add more sugar. If you prefer a tart sangria, add less sugar.
  • Chill the sangria before serving. Sangria is best served cold. Chill the sangria for at least 2 hours before serving, or overnight.
  • Serve with fruit. When serving sangria, garnish it with fruit slices or wedges. This will add a pop of color and flavor to the sangria.

Conclusion:

Mango lime sangria is a refreshing, tropical cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own personal taste.
