MAMIE EISENHOWER'S FAVORITE SPRITZBOAKEN
These yummy spritz cookies are said to be our former first-lady's favorite spritz recipe. They are just a little different from the usual, although I personally cannot pinpoint why. Probably just the way all the good ingredients combine. But they are delicious and you'll like them, too. This recipe makes a lot of cookies; I'm guessing at the yield.

Tips:
- Use cold butter: Cold butter helps to keep the spritz cookies from spreading too much in the oven. If the butter is too warm, the cookies will be more likely to flatten out.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy: This will help to create a smooth and creamy dough that is easy to pipe.
- Chill the dough before piping: Chilling the dough will help to firm it up and make it easier to pipe. This will also help to prevent the cookies from spreading too much in the oven.
- Use a star-shaped piping tip: A star-shaped piping tip will create pretty, festive cookies. If you don't have a star-shaped piping tip, you can use a round tip.
- Bake the cookies until they are just set: The cookies should be firm to the touch, but they should not be browned. If you overbake the cookies, they will be dry and crumbly.
- Let the cookies cool completely before decorating: The cookies will be easier to decorate if they are completely cool.
Conclusion:
Mamie Eisenhower's favorite spritzboaken are a delicious and festive treat that is perfect for any occasion. These cookies are easy to make and can be decorated in a variety of ways. With a little bit of planning, you can create beautiful and delicious cookies that everyone will love.
