LACTATION COOKIES

Lactation Cookies image

These cookies are great for breastfeeding mothers! They are moist and super yummy and they help boost and/or maintain milk supply. And yes, husbands can eat them too! I have to hide these from my hubby when I make them! The brewers' yeast, wheat germ, flax seed, and whole oats are why these cookies help with milk supply for lactating mothers. Don't skip those ingredients!

Tips:

  • To ensure your oatmeal cookies are chewy, use a combination of brown and white sugar. The brown sugar will add moisture and chewiness, while the white sugar will provide sweetness and a crispy texture.
  • Don't overmix the cookie dough. Overmixing will result in tough, dry cookies. Mix the dough just until the ingredients are combined. Use a spatula gently to fold the ingredients together until a soft dough forms.
  • Chill the cookie dough before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Bake the cookies at a high temperature for a short amount of time. This will help the cookies develop a crispy exterior and a chewy interior.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before enjoying them. This will allow the flavors to meld and the cookies to firm up.
  • To ensure maximum flavor and texture, use old-fashioned rolled oats instead of quick-cooking or instant oats. The larger size will provide a chewier bite.
  • For the best results, use fresh baking soda and baking powder. Old or stale ingredients can result in flat, dense cookies.
  • Don't skimp on the butter. The butter is what gives these cookies their rich, chewy texture.

Conclusion:

These chewy oatmeal cookies are a classic for a reason. They're easy to make, delicious, and loved by people of all ages. Follow these tips and tricks to create the perfect batch of chewy oatmeal cookies every time. Don't be afraid to experiment with different add-ins, such as chocolate chips, raisins, or nuts.
