A wonderful all-purpose meatball to use in a variety of recipes! Easy to make, and with ingredients usually on hand. The yield is based on 1-1/2" meatballs, but you can make them smaller. I get about forty-eight 1" meatballs out of this same recipe.

Categories     Meat

Time 35m

Yield 32 1-1/2, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup soft breadcrumbs (about 1 slice bread)
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 lbs ground beef (I prefer 90% lean or higher)

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except beef.
  • Mix in beef well, and shape into meatballs.
  • Place all on single layer in pan.
  • Bake 20 minutes at 350.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels, and let cool 15 minutes.
  • Put in freezer bag or freezer container or use immediately.

Tips:

  • Choose the right meat: For the best results, use a combination of ground beef and ground pork. This will give your meatballs a moist and flavorful texture.
  • Season your meatballs well: Don't be afraid to add plenty of herbs and spices to your meatballs. This is what will give them their flavor.
  • Don't overmix the meatball mixture: Overmixing will make your meatballs tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a cookie scoop to shape your meatballs: This will help you make evenly sized meatballs that will cook evenly.
  • Brown your meatballs before freezing them: This will help to seal in the flavor and prevent them from drying out in the freezer.
  • Freeze your meatballs in a single layer: This will help them to freeze quickly and evenly.
  • Store your meatballs in the freezer for up to 3 months: When you're ready to use them, thaw them overnight in the refrigerator or at room temperature for a few hours.

Conclusion:
