MAID RITES (LOOSE MEAT SANDWICHES)
If you have ever been to the Mid-West or watched Rosanne you probably have heard of Maid-Rite also known as the loose meat sandwich. It's a kind of sloppy joe without the red sauce. It is served with mustard, pickle and onion but I do like mine with ketchup on it too. Not sure where this recipe comes from originally....

IOWA MAID-RITES ( LOOSE MEAT SANDWICHES )
This was a big winner in our work pot lucks,I was requested to bring it all the time and its easy easy to throw in a crock pot also. It may not be an Authentic Maidrite...but everyone who has tried them seem to agree they are pretty darn good.

Tips:
- Use a sharp knife to mince the beef. This will help to ensure that the meat is evenly cooked.
- Cook the beef over medium heat. This will help to prevent the meat from becoming tough.
- Stir the beef frequently while it is cooking. This will help to prevent the meat from sticking to the pan and will also help to ensure that it is evenly cooked.
- Do not overcook the beef. Overcooked beef will be tough and dry.
- Use a good quality bun. A good bun will help to hold the sandwich together and will also add flavor.
