MACARONI, CHEESE AND HOT DOGS
I always loved it when my mom would make macaroni, cheese and hot dogs when I was young. As I grew up, I found that I liked it to be cheesier than she made it. I have been making this recipe for years and most everyone who has tried it really likes it. It is easy to make and my kids really enjoy having it for lunch.

MACARONI AND HOT DOGS
Another recipe from the 1980 version of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church cookbook from Muir, Pennsylvania that was given to me by my Nana when I became an adult. This recipe was submitted to the cookbook by Eva Smith. The printed version of this recipe makes me giggle because there is a typo where the hot dogs are called 'hot gods'. Eva didn't specify serving yield, so I am guessing.

Steps:
- 1. Cook Macaroni as directed on the box. Set timer for 2 minutes less than directed on the package.
- 2. Cut Hot dogs into wheels. When timer goes off for pasta, add hot dog slices and cook for 2 more minutes.
- 3. Mix as directed on the box. When pasta and dogs are cheesy, add peas, stir a couple times and let set 5 minutes to warm the peas. Serve and enjoy. That meal costs $2.50 to feed up to 6 people in 10 minutes!!!
Tips:
- Choose Quality Ingredients: Use fresh, high-quality macaroni, hot dogs, and vegetables for the best flavor and texture.
- Cook Macaroni Perfectly: Follow the package instructions to cook the macaroni al dente, slightly firm to the bite, to prevent it from becoming mushy.
- Use Savory Hot Dogs: Choose hot dogs with a bold flavor, such as smoked or spicy varieties, to add depth to the dish.
- Chop Veggies Evenly: Cut the vegetables into uniform pieces to ensure they cook evenly and create a cohesive texture.
- Don't Overcook Vegetables: Cook the vegetables just until tender-crisp to retain their vibrant color and nutrients.
- Use a Non-Stick Pan: Cooking the macaroni and hot dogs in a non-stick pan prevents sticking and ensures even browning.
- Season Generously: Don't be afraid to season the dish with salt, pepper, and other spices to taste. A well-seasoned dish is always more flavorful.
- Add Cheese for Extra Flavor: If desired, stir in grated cheddar or mozzarella cheese at the end of cooking for a cheesy, indulgent twist.
