COMPANY MAC AND CHEESE

This is by far the creamiest, tastiest and most special macaroni and cheese I have ever tried. I'm not usually a fan of the homemade kind, but when a friend served this mac and cheese with cream cheese, I had to have the recipe. Since it's so little fuss and well received, it's a terrific potluck dish. -Catherine Odgen, Middlegrove, New York

Tips for Amazing Mac and Cheese Noodles and Co Style:

  • Use a good quality cheese: The type of cheese you use will have a big impact on the flavor of your mac and cheese. Use a sharp cheddar cheese for a classic flavor, or try a combination of cheeses for a more complex flavor.
  • Cook the noodles al dente: Don't overcook the noodles, or they will become mushy. Cook them until they are al dente, or slightly firm to the bite.
  • Make a roux: A roux is a mixture of butter and flour that helps to thicken the cheese sauce. This will give your mac and cheese a creamy, smooth texture.
  • Use milk or cream: You can use milk or cream to make the cheese sauce. Milk will give you a lighter sauce, while cream will give you a richer, more decadent sauce.
  • Season the sauce: Don't forget to season the cheese sauce with salt, pepper, and other spices. This will help to bring out the flavor of the cheese.
  • Add mix-ins: You can add a variety of mix-ins to your mac and cheese, such as cooked bacon, diced tomatoes, or chopped green onions. This will give your dish a unique flavor and texture.
  • Bake it: Baking the mac and cheese will give it a golden brown crust and help to melt the cheese evenly. If you don't want to bake it, you can simply serve it immediately after making it.
