I just got a Wolfgang Puck rice cooker from HSN and it came with a recipe book. I was surprised by the things that can be made besides rice. This is easier than opening a box of Kraft mac and cheese and sooooooooo much better too.

1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni
1 1/2 cups chicken broth or 1 1/2 cups water and a good-quality chicken bouillon cubes
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Combine macaroni, broth and cream in Rice Cooker, press cook and stir occasionally.
  • When machine switches to keep warm, add remaining ingredients and stir thoroughly until all cheese is melted.

1 teaspoon kosher salt
One 12-ounce can evaporated milk (about 1 1/4 cups)
3/4 cup shredded Cheddar
3/4 cup cubed processed cheese product, such as Velveeta (about 6 ounces)
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Combine the macaroni, salt and 2 cups water in a rice cooker. Set the rice cooker on the standard white rice cycle and cook for 30 minutes, or until the cooking cycle is almost complete and most of the water is absorbed.
  • Stir in the milk, Cheddar, processed cheese product, mustard and black pepper. Close the lid, turn the cooker to the warm setting, and let cook, stirring occasionally so the bottom doesn't burn, until the cheese is melted and the milk is well incorporated, about 10 minutes.

2 cups pasta (i used macaroni)
2 cups chicken stock
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon salt
1 heavy whipping cream
2 cups cheese (i used a mix of cheddar and mozzarella )
1/4 cup cheddar cheese, to top off at the end of the cyle
4 ounces of smoked cooked ham (if u like meat in this dish)
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

  • 1. Place the first 4 ingredients in the rice cooker and cook for about 12 minutes. That's when the water starts to boil.
  • 2. Open the lid, add the milk/cream mixer, cheese, nutmeg and smoked ham, stir to combine. Close the lid and cook till it switches to the keep warm setting.
