Tips:

  • Use high-quality sausage: The sausage is the star of this dish, so make sure to use a good-quality sausage that you enjoy the taste of.
  • Don't overcook the sausage: Overcooked sausage will be dry and tough. Cook it just until it is cooked through.
  • Use a variety of cheeses: The different types of cheeses in this dish add a lot of flavor and richness. Feel free to experiment with different types of cheeses to find your favorite combination.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the casserole tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the casserole until it is set in the center: The casserole is done baking when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Conclusion:

This low-carb sausage, sage, and cheesy egg casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. It is perfect for meal prep, as it can be made ahead of time and reheated when you are ready to eat. The casserole is also a great way to use up leftover sausage. Serve the casserole with a side of fresh fruit or a green salad.
