Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 pound sausage
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 cup water
1 tablespoon arrowroot powder
4 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Make low carb cheddar biscuits and set aside. In a medium saucepan cook sausage in two tablespoons of butter until the meat is no longer pink. Break up the sausage into the size of pieces you prefer while cooking. Once meat is cooked, drain fat if there is more that a couple of tablespoons left in the pan. Add cream and water and simmer for about 12 minutes. Remove one tablespoon of the sauce and place it in a small bowl to cool. Once cool, whisk in the arrowroot, then return to the skillet whisking in the sausage mix. Bring to medium-high heat and once the sauce thickens and begins to bubble, remove from heat. Add remaining two tablespoons of butter and stir until incorporated in the sauce. Place the biscuits in a baking pan. Pour sausage gravy over the biscuits. Place in the oven at 350 degrees and cook for 10 minutes or until the biscuits are heated. Serve right away.

Categories     Breakfast

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 1/2 cups almond flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 tablespoon protein isolate powder (no flavor)
3/4 teaspoon onion powder
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
dash of salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
4 tablespoon soft butter
1 pound Sausage
3 ounces cream cheese
1 cup of heavy cream
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon Xantham powder
Optional: Salt and pepper to taste (I only added pepper)

Steps:

  • Start off by frying the sausage until it's browned. Don't drain the fat.
  • Add 3 ounces of cream cheese and stir until it's melted and combined.
  • Add 1 cup of heavy cream and bring it to a simmer. I had the gas top set at medium heat and this didn't take but maybe 5 minutes for it to start simmering.
  • Next, add about 2 tablespoons of water and 1 tsp of Xantham powder to thicken the gravy to your taste. If you think the gravy is thick enough, you can omit this step.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste. I did not add salt to my gravy because the sausage brought enough flavor to the mixture.
  • By the time the gravy was done, the biscuits were ready!
  • Break open a biscuit and top it with some delicious gravy!
  • Serve it warm and enjoy.

Enjoy classic comfort food for breakfast! Low-carb sausage gravy and keto biscuits is a gluten-free meal everyone can eat together.

Categories     Breakfast

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/4 cup Coconut Flour
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 cup Butter (melted )
4 Eggs
1 tbsp Cream Cheese
1/4 tsp Salt
1 pound Breakfast Sausage
3 tbsp Cream Cheese
1/2 cup Heavy Cream
1/3 cup Broth (Chicken or Beef )

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Mix together dry ingredients with melted butter and cream cheese.
  • Add eggs and continue to mix until everything is well combined. (Let the batter sit for 2-3 minutes. It will continue to thicken).
  • Scoop batter onto a prepared baking sheet (I used an ice cream scoop). Bake for approximately 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • In a skillet, begin to cook sausage until crumbled and mostly cooked through.
  • Add heavy cream and cream cheese. Continue to cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Add broth and salt and pepper. Bring to a low boil, continue to cook for another 5 minutes, or until liquids have reduced a bit, and gravy is creamy and smooth.

Nutrition Facts : Calories 385 kcal, ServingSize 1 serving

Tips:

  • Use a good quality sausage for the gravy. A spicy sausage will give the gravy a nice kick, while a mild sausage will be more family-friendly.
  • If you don't have buttermilk, you can make your own by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes before using.
  • Be careful not to overmix the biscuit dough. Overmixing will make the biscuits tough.
  • Drop the biscuit dough onto the baking sheet using a large spoon or a cookie scoop. This will help the biscuits to be evenly sized and shaped.
  • Bake the biscuits until they are golden brown on top and cooked through in the center.
  • Serve the biscuits and gravy immediately, while they are still warm.

Conclusion:

These low-carb drop biscuits with sausage gravy are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch recipe. They are perfect for a lazy weekend morning or a special occasion. The biscuits are light and fluffy, and the gravy is creamy and flavorful. Plus, they are low in carbs, so you can enjoy them without guilt.
