Number Of Ingredients 6

Vegetable oil, for frying
24 wonton wrappers
12 small squares chocolate, such as semisweet or dark
1 large egg, beaten
Confectioners' sugar, for topping
Deep-fry thermometer

Steps:

  • Add 3 inches of vegetable oil to a pot set over medium-low heat. Attach the deep-fry thermometer to the pot. Line a plate with paper towels and set it aside.
  • Arrange 12 of the wonton wrappers on your work surface then place a square piece of chocolate in the center of each wonton.
  • Brush around the edges of each of the wonton wrappers then place a second wonton wrapper on top and firmly seal together the edges with your fingers.

  • Using a slotted spoon, transfer the wontons from the pot to the paper towel-lined plate.
  • Repeat the frying process with the remaining wontons, allowing the oil to return to 350°F between each batch.

LOW-FAT DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Low-Fat Double Chocolate Chip Cookies image

These came from a Pillsbury healthy baking cookbook. They make a small batch, so double if you're serving them to more than a couple of people. Also, the dough can get a little dry near the end sometimes. Adding a little bit of milk or chocolate liqueur will help loosen it up nicely.

LOW-CAL DOUBLE CHOCOLATE PILLOWS

LOW-CAL DOUBLE CHOCOLATE PILLOWS image

Yield 24 cookies

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup whole wheat flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
1/4 cup canola oil
1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup turbinado sugar
1/3 cup grain-sweetened chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line 2 cookie trays with wax paper. In a large bowl, sift together the first five ingredients. Mix in the chocolate chips evenly distributing. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the oil and extract. Add in the pumpkin and sugar and mix until all is dissolved. Pour the wet into the dry and fold together until fully incorporated(batter will be very thick). Scoop into 24 mounds, flatten, and bake for 10-12 minutes, until puffed and firm to the touch.

Tips:

  • Use a kitchen scale to measure ingredients: This will ensure accuracy and consistent results.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can make the cookies tough.
  • Chill the dough before baking: This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set: Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before filling them: This will help prevent the filling from melting and making the cookies soggy.
  • Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature: They will keep for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

These low-cal double chocolate pillows are a delicious and indulgent treat that can be enjoyed without guilt. They are perfect for a sweet snack or dessert, and they are also easy to make. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create these delicious cookies that are sure to please everyone. So why not give them a try today?
