Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all your ingredients and equipment ready. This will help you stay organized and avoid scrambling during the cooking process.
  • Use Fresh Lemon: Fresh lemon juice and zest provide the best flavor for this dish. If you don't have fresh lemons, you can use bottled lemon juice, but the flavor will be slightly less pronounced.
  • Don't Overcrowd the Pan: When searing the chicken, make sure you don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent the chicken from cooking evenly and will result in steamed chicken instead of seared chicken.
  • Cook the Chicken Thoroughly: Make sure the chicken is cooked thoroughly before serving. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165°F (74°C) as measured by a meat thermometer.
  • Adjust the Sauce Consistency: If you find the sauce is too thick, you can add a little bit of water or chicken broth to thin it out. If you find the sauce is too thin, you can add a little bit of cornstarch slurry (equal parts cornstarch and water) to thicken it.

Conclusion:

Lemon chicken is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served with a variety of sides. It is a great way to enjoy the bright and citrusy flavor of lemons. This recipe is easy to follow and can be made in under an hour. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, give lemon chicken a try!
