Tips:

  • Choose the Right Apples: Use a combination of tart and sweet apples for the best flavor. Some good options include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn.
  • Peel and Slice Apples Thinly: This will help them cook evenly and create a tender filling.
  • Don't Overwork the Dough: Mix the dough just until it comes together. Overworking it will make it tough.
  • Chill the Dough: Chilling the dough before rolling it out will make it easier to handle and prevent it from shrinking in the oven.
  • Brush the Crust with Milk: This will help it brown and give it a golden color.
  • Don't Overfill the Pie: Leave some space at the top of the pie so the filling doesn't bubble over.
  • Bake the Pie Until the Crust is Golden Brown and the Filling is Bubbling: This will take about 45-50 minutes.
  • Let the Pie Cool Completely Before Serving: This will allow the filling to set and the flavors to meld.

Conclusion:

Linda's Apple Pie is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its flaky crust, tender apples, and sweet filling, this pie is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. Follow these tips to make the best apple pie you've ever tasted.
